Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Fundraising Officer. As the Fundraising Officer you will play a vital role in identifying and recruiting new fundraisers, supporting and guiding them throughout their fundraising journey, and ensuring their experience with our organisation is positive and fulfilling. In addition, you will assist in various fundraising activities, such as attending events, writing fundraising copy, creating digital content, and coordinating national awareness campaigns. Your attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to build relationships will contribute to the success of our fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and recruit new fundraisers from various sources, including community organisations, corporate partners, schools, and local opportunities, by implementing engaging digital strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with fundraisers through a warm stewardship program, providing guidance, resources, and support to ensure their success.
  • Occasionally attend mass participation events to host the Anaphylaxis UK cheer spot and capture photo/video of the day’s activities.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Fundraising Manager to write compelling fundraising copy for different audiences and channels, such as webpages, resources, social media, and e-newsletters.
  • Work alongside the Communications and Marketing Manager to design and publish digital content celebrating fundraising achievements, inspiring others to join our fundraising family, and promoting #TeamAnaphylaxis.
  • Support colleagues in coordinating and delivering national awareness campaigns to raise public awareness about anaphylaxis and its impact.
  • Manage the Fundraising inbox, promptly responding to daily requests and enquiries from fundraisers and supporters.
  • Update the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) guidelines, ensuring accurate and up-to-date donor information.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years experience in charity fundraising.
  • Strong digital skills and familiarity with various online platforms and tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with fundraisers, supporters, and colleagues.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt the tone and style of communication for different audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to occasionally attend events outside of regular working hours.
  • Knowledge of GDPR regulations and experience managing CRM systems is a plus.
