Anaphylaxis UK is taking part in Big Give’s Christmas Challenge 2024; their flagship online match funding campaign.
Starting on #GivingTuesday, Tuesday 3 December, you will have seven days to donate to our campaign. Every donation made during this week will be automatically DOUBLED!
Will you help us reach our goal of raising £15,000 to help create a brighter and safer future for people living with serious allergies?
Much great work has been done over the years, by us and other leading allergy charities, to raise awareness of the seriousness of allergies and anaphylaxis. For 30 years, Anaphylaxis UK has been a trusted source of evidence-based information and resources to help with every milestone of your allergy journey and potential challenges faced.
But there is still much work to be done to tackle the often ‘hidden’ emotional challenges that come with living with serious allergies.
With that in mind, we have chosen to focus our Big Give Christmas Challenge 2024 campaign on The Hidden Battle with Allergies to help people take control of the emotional impact of living with serious allergies. Together, we will create a brighter future for this generation and the next.
The worry of living with or caring for someone with serious allergies, may never fully go away… we know that. But what we also know is having access to the right information and support can help to ease the emotional strain of living with allergies. As the leading charity operating solely for the growing numbers of people at risk of serious allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, we are committed to support those who turn to us.
The money raised from our Big Give Christmas Challenge 2024 campaign will go towards developing unique resources and leading services to help those living with allergies to better manage the fear and anxiety that may come with it. Together, we will create a brighter and safer future for this generation and the next.
Here’s how you can help and double the difference…
Your gift of £10 can help print and distribute new patient information leaflets to allergy clinics across the UK. Big Give doubles it to £20 to reach more patients and clinic waiting rooms.
A £50 gift funds the ‘Let’s Talk About Allergies’ podcast. Big Give turns it into £100 to help build our podcast series to cover more practical issues and mindfulness topics.
Your £100 helps fund community support groups for those affected by anaphylaxis and their families. Big Give doubles it to £200 to help fund more sessions and reach those on our waiting list.
Big Give doubles your £150 gift to £300 which will provide AllergyWise® training to a school.
All you need to know about Big Give, their Christmas Challenge 2024, and how to DOUBLE your donation to Anaphylaxis UK…
Big Give is a registered charity (1136547) that runs match funded campaigns for charities and special causes at key moments across the year. By connecting charities to match funders (like philanthropists, foundations or corporates) and the public, Big Give helps them double their donations. And, in doing so, makes an extraordinary difference to the world’s biggest challenges.
It’s a simple idea – when the public donates to a charity through a Big Give campaign, it asks funders (philanthropists, foundations, government departments or corporates) to match that donation. So £50 from a member of the public becomes £100 for a good cause.
The Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest match-funded campaign. For seven days (3-10 December 2024), the challenge offers supporters of participating charities (like Anaphylaxis UK) the opportunity to double their donations – and, in doing so, make an extraordinary difference to the world’s biggest charities.
We aim to raise £15,000 from our Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign – “A brighter future for this generation and the next” with a focus on the hidden battles with allergies.
Donations must be made via our campaign page on the Big Give website and these will be doubled, while match funds last, from Tuesday 3 December until midday 10 December 2024.
All donations to participating charities are doubled in this match-funded campaign. “Pledger” funds are used to match online donations and, when these are exhausted, “Champion” funds are used to match subsequent online donations.
We are asking friends and supporters of Anaphylaxis UK to donate and raise £7,500 via our donation page to unlock the matching pot generously provided by our pledgers and Champion funder.
So, if we hit the £7,500 in online donations, this unlocks all of our matching pot and we will raise a grand total of £10,000!
The combined amount of pledges and Champion funds make up our match funding pot. We were thrilled to have secured £3,750 from generous supporters and friends of Anaphylaxis UK, and delighted to have the support from ShareGift, who has promised £3,750.
Our total “matching pot” is £7,500. So, if we hit the £7,500 in online donations via our donation page, this unlocks all of our matching pot and we will raise a grand total of £15,000!
Donations can only be made via our Big Give Christmas Challenge donation page from Tuesday 3 December until midday Tuesday 10 December 2024.
Be quick!
Yes! Thank you so much for fundraising for Anaphylaxis UK and, if you’re quick and donate the money raised via our Big Give Christmas Challenge donation page between 3-10 December, the money you have worked so hard for will be DOUBLED!
Please spread the word and share our Big Give Christmas Challenge donation page with your personal and professional network to encourage donations. Thank you!
