We are saddened to learn of the tragic death of Nicholas Kelly, aged 16, due to a suspected allergic reaction, and would like to offer our deepest sympathies to his family at this difficult time.
We have very little detail on this case but press reports say Nicholas suffered a suspected allergic reaction after eating at a takeaway restaurant in Prescot, Merseyside on Saturday 7 March. He died in hospital on Wednesday 11 March.
We understand a joint investigation between Merseyside Police and Knowsley Council is now underway.
Lynne Regent, Chief Executive of the Anaphylaxis Campaign, said:
“Our thoughts are with Nicholas’s family at this tragic time and we would like to offer our support and advice to them should they wish to get in touch.”
