The review explored why ethnic minority patients with allergic disease have poorer clinical outcomes than the indigenous population. The study identified that deprivation, literacy, proficiency of local language, access to specialists, cultural and religious beliefs all play a part. The study concluded that in order to improve clinical outcomes for ethnic minority patients there must be improved access/referral pathways, which are co-produced and their effectiveness evaluated.
